My site is live! (sorta)

After some meticulous tweaking, my Transient Spaces site is finally online, but not on the RMIT RAWS server though…
I can’t connect to the server via anything from home, so I will try to go later to campus to upload it from there to see if I have any luck. For now I uploaded it to a free server site that I found. 000webhost they are called and seem pretty good for FREE.
The (mirror) URL for my site is http://nicagamerz.net46.net.

Recent research indicates that 60 percent of Australians are having some form of hearing loss due to listening to loud music. To my opinion this is a worldwide phenomenon and I do admit I listen to my iPod sometimes loud enough for other people to hear it across the room.
Right now I’m trying to use earbuds that have rubber seal thingies in efforts to drown out some outside noise so I can turn down the volume a bit. Hope they work though!
iPod generation going deaf, experts say
And just because I couldn’t find a good picture to go along with this post, here’s a totally random one:

Wow! Kevin Rudd even speaks some Japanese! I mean, I knew about his fluent Mandarin but Japanese I guess is another ace up this sleeve. Impressive. My hat is off to you for trying Mr. Rudd.

With the current Sex and the City movie craze, everybody is talking about this movie. Women from all over the world are flocking to see it, and men all over the world are being dragged by their girlfriends and wives to see it too.
But seems someone in the UK doesn’t like much Carrie and the gang, and decapitated her on one of the promotional movie billboards. This is where vandalism becomes art.

Starting today a number of universities in Australia and New Zealand will join iTunes U, a service which allows anyone to download lectures, notes and guest speeches.
So students from the following universities rejoice if you miss a class or two in the future: The Australian National University, Griffith University, Swinburne University, University of Melbourne, University of NSW, University of WA and Otago University.
Just one thing, where is the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology? I feel cheated. But they can still join! I just hope they join before my masters runs out… :P.

“Turn it off already!”
That may sound like phrase your mother would say to you after a nine hour marathon session of Guitar Hero 3, but it’s Mother Nature now that asks you to do it.
Australian independent testers Choice published a list of the most power hungry devices found in a typical household. Top contenders were plasma TV’s, the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 (which consumes 5 times as much electricity as a refrigerator!).
So after rocking out to Alice Cooper and Weezer, unplug the darn thing!

Kevin Rudd, please don’t ban Facebook!
Posted by Allan Chan under Uncategorized | Tags: ban, Facebook, Kevin Rudd |Leave a Comment
Following the publication of pictures from the profile of his executive assistant John Fisher during a recent trip to New York in newspapers over the weekend, Rudd has reportedly banned his own office and personal staff from using Facebook.
Hmm… according to this article there is some research done that indicates that 1 in 4 employees would quit their jobs if their boss banned or blocked Facebook.
So please Kevin Rudd, let your workers use Facebook. Do it for Australia, do it for the world.
